Teresa Gerchman

Principal

“I have been in education since graduating in 1986. Although my first degree was in engineering, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I became an administrator in 2003 and started working in urban charter schools. I was lucky enough to be asked to go to some other states to work with school turnaround efforts. This gave me various experiences with what a school needs to be successful and how to achieve that success. Westminster’s focus on community is what drew me to the school. I wanted to be part of a school with an excellent history of developing well-rounded students able to compete at any of the high schools in the Buffalo area.”

Corey Wilson

Assistant Principal

“I have been in education since 2001 when my children entered school. I then found myself interested in the field and went to Buffalo State College. I received my degree in general and exceptional education and graduated with honors in 2009. Throughout my career, I have worked in both urban and rural settings, helping students achieve their highest academic success. I have also had the pleasure of coaching educators in their practice and building their instructional capacity to meet the diverse needs of all their students. I am proud to be a member of Westminster Community Charter school. I enjoy how the school and the community work together to give the students many opportunities that enhance their educational experience.”

Student Council.

Our Student Council is a small group of 7th and 8th grade students who share the common interest of exercising a positive voice both individually and collectively and representing Westminster. These students are selected based on dependability, leadership skills and desire to give back to the community. They are responsible for coordinating events to raise money for 8th grade field trips and graduation, supporting family nights and guiding guests and visitors on tours through our school as well as many other amazing community service opportunities.

Parent Council.

Our Parent Advisory Committee is made up of parents and guardians who give their time and energy to make our school and community the best it can be. They work together to maintain an active community, inspire a positive school culture, and build a strong parent network. This parent group meets regularly to advance plans of action and host activities that help our students flourish.
